Detailing LS1 Motor

My Question is, what is the safest way to clean shell dust and leaves from inside of a LS1 engine compartment? So many electrical components might get too much water. And what kind of degreassers should be used? Any key area I should avoid?

Leaves, shop vac and compressed air.

wet rag=dust gone......

I've pressure washed the engine bay of my lt1 and my nissan sentra

We spray down the engines with an all purpose cleaner and them power wash it at the detail shop i worked for, we just tried to avoid direct pressure on the alternator and other major electrical looking things, but nothing bad has every happened.
