I'm guess the GVW is different? Mine does not say HD anywhere so I assume its not an HD. Anyone have any info?
Thanks in advance!

I took a look at
www.acdelco.com for 1998 C3500 and it looks like there are 3 gear boxes for that truck. 2 of them have the C5B option (this RPO code means the truck is rated at 15000 GVW lbs). The other box is without the C5B option so my guess is C5B probably means HD. The RPO sticker should be in the glovebox (at least it is on my 90 K1500).
If you do have the C5B option, you need to look at the current gear box since it will either have JW or ZA stamped on the box.
