Re: Swap
Yes however some years had a different mounts system . e.g. 1991 and 1992 .. ????
In common generally is called the Torque Axis Mount System ( TAM )consisting of a passenger side top engine mount, a lower driver's side transmission mount, a upper driver's side transmission mount called a "dogbone" mount and a lower passenger side engine mount also a "dogbone" mount since thats what they resemble. |

Re: Swap
Well I have a 96 sohc, and I was just trying to figure out if the mounts would align for a dohc, and what years also. The reason being is because I have a bad head gasket, 2 of my cylinders have around 90 compression, and the others 113 and 114, and it's supposed to be 185 according to alldata. also has wonderful valvetrain noise. so i thought it would just be much easier, and cheaper, if i can find a cheap and good dohc, to just swap for one of those. the only good thing is that i have a good trans; unlike my acllaim which has a bad engine and trans.
. and by the way, thanks.

Re: Swap
You may have other concerns with using a different engine in that car. Depending on year is the OBD I or OBD II system and EGR. PCM might have some conflicts depending on the type of transmission. Do some good research before you buy.
