tranny problems

i have a 94 gp and my tranny is slipping bad in 1st gear and at 2000rpms. it is full with fluid. what do you think is the problem? would it be and easy/cheap fix?

I doubt it will be cheap. If it is slipping badly and the fluid is good it is probably a bad clutch or band causing the issue. Sounds like a rebuild to me, unfortunately. I would take it to a tranny shop for evaluation just to be certain but unless this is a very low mileage vehicle I suspect it is time for an upgrade in the transmission given the fact that the car is 13 years old.

it has 154k so best option is drive it into the ground?

my 2001 GTP was slipping.
The transmission had to be rebuilt.
I was lucky to have it under warranty at the time

i know this sounds stupid but when you drive it run the crap out of it and change fluid and filter and see what happens..i've done this before a few times and it quit slipping..good luck...

i replaced the filter in the tranny right before i quit driving it (i bought a 300zx turbo) it was driving fine but over the winter it started slipping pertty soon im gonna put my z back on the road and deal with the car later
