350 V8 Coughs and gags when its time to go!
1988 GMC Suburban, 350 V8 TBI runs perfect at idle, no check engine light, press the gas...it tries to cough up a lung and backfires thru the carb. Would this be cause by a faulty EGR valve, or possibly a stretched timing chain?!

Welcome to AF. Or low fuel pressure, check that first. In the future we have a Suburban forum in the Chev section.
