ran a lancer

So I'm cruising in the vr4, when a white lancer with tint flies by. I drop a few gears and follow. We line up at the next light...but I get there and put it into neutral right as the light goes green. I put it into first and just nail it with no launch or anything. So I bog off hte light..lancer didn't leave too quickly either.

I take off and I'm pretty sure he followed, although my car didn't feel like it was pulling very well (almost like I was knocking and the ecu was pulling timing), and I wasn't even sure if the Lancer went, so I let off. I shift to third and start to cruise, when I see the EVO take off and try to do a flyby in my side mirror. I wasn't gonna let that nonsense happen, so when I saw him coming I gave it gas, boost built and when he was 2 cars off my back bumper I started to pull again, and put a couple cars on him relatively quickly. At that point, the next light was coming up and I had to turn...so that was it.

Re: ran a lancer

So was it an Evo or a Lancer with the Evo appearance thing going?

I see alot of normal Lancers, Lancer OZ and Lancer Ralliart editions with the body kit, vortec generators, wing and hood of the Evo. Ive even see a few with the Evo badge but you can see the callipers are single piston and the car is slow as balls.

Fake Evos make me emo! *slides razor across wrist *

Same here.

Good kill, so was it an EVO or not. If so, very well done.

Re: ran a lancer

To be honest I was driving along side trying to figure it out...but I think it wasn't an evo. I mean, my launch...if you could call it that...blew balls, and it felt like the ecu was pulling timing the first time I got on it. The 2nd time, when he was comign up behind me with speed, I stopped his halt and started pulling rather easily...I think the evo would have been more of a challenge in that scenario.

So yeah, not the most amazng race ever...but it was the only one I had yesterday.

Re: ran a lancer

^^lol cassies. i saw one of these fake evos the other day. they just dont look right if you look into the wheel well. the rims are all small, but the body kit makes the car look wider. damn kids.

speaking of car crime, i saw a dodge durango with a JIC twin looking muffler. i just shook my head at the driver and turned away.

Re: ran a lancer

Those wannabe lancers do try hard . I've only seen maybe two EVOS at my college's parking lot. But there are about a dozen lancers doning the evo outfit. in fact, the other week this kid in my philosophy class was bragging how his integra gsr with i/h/e destroyed an evo. he was describing one of the lancers in the parking lot. when i decided to bring it to his attention that he just smoked a plain lancer he gave me a dirty look and didnt say a word...

Re: ran a lancer

wanna laugh? It wasn't my ecu pulling timing. It was my new boots. On the way to work today I realized it's physically impossible for me to put my foot all the way down when I'm sitting in my normal driving position with my new work boots. Realized this on teh way to work today, the heel is just huge in comparison to my indoor soccer shoes.

Re: ran a lancer

Good kill on the Evo. Evos don't do well from a roll.
