Re: fog lamps

Why not just pull the fuse for them and be done with it.
I've never seen a factory "fog lamp" do more than light up puddles so close to you that they can't be seen from the drivers seat, and add glare for the on-coming driver. And without them, you may see a mileage increase.
I've never been able to figure out why they seem so popular. People even use them on well lit streets.

Some states require for inspection that all lights on the vehicle must be working. Even if the lights are of an auxilary nature. I had a truck fail inspection because one visor light was burnt out. If the lights are aimed properly they shouldn't affect on coming drivers. If they are factory lights, then park on a flat surface and use the other fog light as a reference for aiming. People use them because they think the lights look cool

Re: fog lamps

to replace the bulb, you can reach under the front fascia and twist the socket to remove it, then unplug it. reverse order to install. to aim it. park 25 ft. from at a flat wall. adjust the beam so that the top of the beam on the wall is no higher than 4 inches higher than the top of the fog lamp. this is factory spec.

and to add, how the hell are you going to get more mileage with no fog lamps?
