96 Cavilier Clutch Question

Hello !

My daughter bought a 96 Cavilier with a standard transmission. The clutch seems to slip for a moment when you accelerate hard in every gear. It's like there is a vaccum clutch release to let the engine speed up. The clutch holds solid, it will stop the engine, can spin the tires but when you hit it hard it's like it slips momentarily to let the engine pick up.

I looked through the manuals and nothing in there, am I missing something ?

Take Care
Roy
