help!!!!
 i just got the idle in my van to work but now i can not get the gas pedal to work it is stuck all the way down and it wont give the car any gass i tried putting it in gear to see if that might work but no i had to take off the trottle body to fix the idle does that have anything to do with it and if not how do i fix it

Kinda sounds like your throttle cable came unhooked from the throttle body.

Is the throttle cable routed exactly the same way as it was before you fix the idle probem? It could be binding...
The cable could also be broken or disconnected from the gas pedal! You could have a helper sit on the drivers place and step on the gas pedal while you look from under the hood and see if the throttle cable moves as he depresses on it. The same thing works in vise-versa, you could move the throttle by hand from under the hood and have a helper check if the accelerator pedal moves inside. If the cable moves when you do this, then another thing would be to take the air cleaner and air duct off and see if the throttle plate moves when your helper steps on the gas pedal... that could be costly to repair if in fact is broken...! good luck

As I recall to re-install the detached throttle cable on my '96, I have to physically hold the throttle full open, and pull on the throttle cable in order to slip the end into its slot on the throttle actuator. Sorry, but I have to agree that the most likely cause would seem to be a problem in how you re-installed the cable. Let us know what you find. Best of Luck

If the throttle plate is moving, but the TPS sensor doesn't send info to the PCM there will be no increase in fuel .....???? Is the TPS hooked up ... or possibly not working??

Maybe someone can help me on this. When I did the upper intake repair and reattached the throttle cable, I noticed that it was frayed a little. I don't know how many small cables are twisted together to make the whole throttle cable, but 2 of them broke. Is there an easy fix or do I need to see the mechanic? I'd hate to have the thing snap while my wife is driving. Thanks,
