Re: Bmw 735 I

On my '88 750 it was the electrical connectors at the light that had failed. I made new ones using male female bullet style connectors I bought at a parts store, cut the wires and crimped on a new connector (do you have twelve volts at the wires to the fog lights).

Like I wrote, there is 12 volts at the # 7 fuse wich is the fuse for the fog lights, but there is no power on the connection plugs on the fog lights. I followed the wires as far as the massive wiring harnas but then there where so many wires that I could not find the color coded wirers from the fog lights. (I wonder if there is a relay associated with the fog lights in the fuse compartment). When I pull a hot wire from the head lights, the fog lights will come on, unfortunately the computer don't like that and gives a error message so I do not want to go that route.

Re: Bmw 735 I

Here are two more websites you might find valuable:

www.nmia.com/~dgnrg/page_2.htm

http://bmwe32.masscom.net

The first is Don Gales site and it is mainly for the 735,
the second is Johan and Sean's site and though it deals with the 750 there are many 735 issues as well as the chasis's on these cars are similar.
