Looking at used 2007 LE

This is a very nice car with 7700 miles. Runs and feels new as you would expect. I have never owned a Toyota. My question, is there a shroud/skid plate under the front of the engine compartment? On this car, when the hood is open, you can see the ground from behind the radiator back. It is a fairly large space. I am concerned that this piece may be missing and more important how it became missing.

My 2007 CE looks the same way. I don't mind it as there is more space to work on stuff if I need to.
