Transmission fluid Level
On my 85 Oldsmobile Calais, checking the transmission fluid when cold (idling for 2-3 minutes) indicates that the transmission is overfilled, however, when checking the transmission when hot (driving 10 mins or so, nothing rough or in hot conditions) the fluid goes down past the "add" line.
As far as I know, transmission fluid expands when hot (Google kindly confirmed this for me) so my readings are opposite for some reason. I feel as though I need to add more fluid, however, as shifts are getting rougher, and it was leaking (the pan was loose.) Any ideas? |

Re: Transmission fluid Level
That is normal fluid condition.
Even the power steering Fluid is the same way. Simple expansion & contraction.
