removing small scratches

anyone have any tips on small 1" scratches around the keyhole. i just got the car and it already has a scratch on it. i know it wasn't me cause i haven't used the key to unlock the car. anyone have any experience with those colored polishes?

The colored polishes are a waste of your time & money. If the scratches are deep enough to feel if you run a fingernail across them, you may not be able to completely remove them. If thet are not that deep, try some Meguiar's #9 swirl remover or 3M swirl remover. You won't find these at Wal*Mart, but most good auto supply stores will have them. I use the Meguiar's, but both are good. Follow the instructions on the bottle and rewax the area when finished.
