If a vehicle is recalled in the forest, can you hear it being recalled?

I bought a new car this week (March 14, 2007).
(2) recalls were issued in January 2007 for the make and model.
Should'nt the dealer have informed me that either the car was not in the VIN range of the recalls or that it was and that the problems were fixed prior to me buying it?
My two day old car is now exhibiting symptoms consistent with one of these recalls and I am really ticked.
Any thoughts or experience would be helpful. Thanks!

I have always known dodge dealers to let you know of a recall. Whats your make and model?
