MAF fuse?

I have a 98 Astro, 4.3 w/70,000 miles. I've been getting a P0102 code. I replaced the MAF sensor, checked the hoses for leaks, and checked the pcv. I tried to clear the code, but it keeps coming back as soon as I start the engine. The troubleshooting chart says to check for an open MAF Ignition Positive Voltage fuse. I've been looking, but I cannot find anything that tells me where that fuse is. I looked at diagrams for the underhood and underdash fuse boxes, but there is no mention of that fuse. Can anyone tell me where that fuse is located or if there is anything else I should check?

The fuse is located in the underhood fuse panel. Should be marked ENG 1 and is a 10 amp fuse. The PINK wire runs from the fuse to the MAF sensor and is HOT when the key is in the RUN or CRANK position. The Black wire with white stripe at the MAF is ground and should show less than 5 ohms resistance to ground at all times. The yellow wire at the MAF sensor is the signal wire going back to the VCM. At the fuse, the pink wire splits and the other pink wire goes to the CMP, (camshaft position sensor). As a double check, voltage at the CMP pink wire should be the same as at the MAF pink wire. If not, look for a broken wire.

Ok, I checked the wires. The pink wire has 11.8 volts, the yellow has 5.07, and the black has 10.9 ohms to ground.

Those readings are good with the exception of the resistance to ground on the black wire. 10.9 ohms is a little high, should be close to zero. Trace the wire back to it's connection to ground and make sure it is clean and tight.
This probably will not cure the problem at hand, but rather prevent a future problem.

Make sure the MAF sensor inlet screen, air inlet tube, and air filter are not obstructed. Check the PCV system for proper operation: Sufficient vacuum to the valve and no vacuum leaks from the intake manifold to the valve. Check for vacuum leaks at the throttle body, EGR valve flange and tubes, MAP sensor seal, EVAP canister purge valve seal, fuel meter body seal, and intake manifold gaskets. Also check the power brake booster and vacuum line for leaks. Post back your results.

On the advice from a friend, I took the remanufactured sensor that I had just installed back to the parts store and exchanged it for another. Problem solved! Thanks for the help "old master". I have bookmarked this forum and will no doubt use it again in the future.
