Lucerne on a 1400 mile trip
Just completed a 1400 mile round trip from Boston to Virginia, through the hills in Pennsylvania on I -81.
I am trying to dislike this car, but it averaged 28.4 MPG and the computer proved to be accurate. It did all it was supposed to do. It was quiet, handles halfway decent and the V6 ( it's a loaded CXL) wasn't shifting through the mountains at all, like I figured it would. I really went into this car with skepticism, but I can't find a major complaint. I've said it before, it's no Lexus or MB. It's just a car, but a fairly nice one. A fairly nice one with not much resale value since I paid $22K for it with only 2300 miles. |

Re: Lucerne on a 1400 mile trip
I have just returned from a 3400 mile road trip with my 2006 CXS. The Nothstar V8 handled EXTREMELY well in Colorado's mountain regions. While I haven't been overly impressed with my mileage in the city, I was able to average between 25 and 30 mpg on the trip, and one particular segment only required 3 gallons of gas for 97 miles (I only topped off the tank because the price per gallon was very reasonable at the time.)
I have had this car for almost a year, and I am really satisfied with it. I have had a MB before, and I honestly cannot tell the difference --except that the Buick was MUCH LESS expensive and offers MUCH MORE space.

Re: Lucerne on a 1400 mile trip
Lucerne's are actually fairly common to be out of alignment from the factory, see your local dealer if you are having any wheel problems and the should take care of it.
