Re: mustang for me?
What do you want to know about it? Performance-wise or what? 99-04 GT's are alright cars, they'll make a fine DD. They're pretty slow but if you're not use to anything decently fast it might seem quick.

Re: mustang for me?
how slow? anything under 8 sec 0-60 is "quick" for me i know its not gonna be anything like my buddys sti but still im sure quite a bit faster then my old cavalier z24
how are they like reliabilty, are they solid like rattles and stuff? (interior I mean) and which years are better like i noticed they introduced the 4.6 in 95 i believe? so since its a diff motor maybe should be looking like 99 or 00 with 4.6 apposed to 95-96...my thinking is early bugs be worked out??? |

Re: mustang for me?
so ur basically saying 99 and up is the way to go
i hear alot on how a guy should go with the 5.0 cause everythings cheaper for aftermarket etc... but is it really worth it? how i see this car is, id do maybe intake and exhaust and just use it as a DD untill down the road i bought some eco gas princess car...and id make this car a weekend warrior...like id wanna pump her up and slay some imports at the track i DO wanna see my self on the 1/4 strip later on... |

Re: mustang for me?
Well yeah the 5.0's do have a cheaper/better aftermarket and are easier to work on. If you're looking to make a track car I'd suggest getting a fox body, they come with a 5.0 and are light cars. You can pick them up a dime a dozen(normally a couple grand in decent condition) and build it and use the Cavalir as a DD.

Re: mustang for me?
if you have the mean, definatly get an 05+ model though as they are better than the previous models without a doubt. faster and handle better, and have a nicer interior.

Re: mustang for me?
Grab a 1995 GT in good condition with low miles. You get the 5.0L and a new body style. Not as many people expect them to be fast either. Add a set of heads, cam, intake, exhaust, and some rearend gears. You'd have a 12 second car if you can drive. Its addictive though. When I first bought my car I was gonna build a 11-12 second daily driver. Well, now I've got a 9.80 car that runs off of pump gas and gets about 15mpg lol.

Re: mustang for me?
I've had a Fox, and now I drive a 2000 GT. They're both great, but not in the same way. My fox had more of a "seat of your pants" feel to it, but my New Edge will run circles around it. I'd suggest going to some car shows, hit the dealership, sit in a few, drive a few. If you're not comfortable sitting in it, you'll hate driving it. Find the one that gives you a silly grin on your face. There's no better decision making tool.

Re: mustang for me?
BTW, my 2000 is for sale if you're interested (Not sure what I'm gonna try next, still waiting for my cheesy grin to appear)
