Low engine temperature; losing a lot of coolant
2000 Montana 3.4L 250K (km)
Since 150K temperature gage stays steady @ first (low) mark. Only if stack in traffic the engine temp goes up – close to the red zone. Recently had to add a lot of coolant (approx 4L per month) What could be the problem? Is it intake manifold? |

Re: Low engine temperature; losing a lot of coolant
More than likely, Intake manifold gasket check oil, if the color of milkshake then you're leaking coolant into oil, part # is ms98003t for gasket set.

Re: Low engine temperature; losing a lot of coolant
Oil is OK (color & consistence)
Could coolant go out (have’t noticed any leakage) … or go into cylinders … or could be the thermostat ? |
