tranny ???

would a gtp tranny fit in my stock gt an would it be better for my gt grand prix . because a rebuild in my tranny cost me around $1,400 would it be better to just upgrade to a gtp tranny any suggestion s would help ??

There are some differences that you need to be aware of. The most noteable are that the 4T65E-HD trans used in the GTP has a different final drive ratio (so your speedo would be off, and since it's lower numerically, you'd actually lose a little off-the-line acceleration), and a heavier differential (which requires a different passenger side drive axle). It also has all the issues that affect the GT's 4T65E trans (PCS solenoid,TCC solenoid, shift valves, etc...). In addition, people seem to be harder on GTP's than GT's, so your chances of getting (let alone finding) a good used, non-abused GTP trans are slim. IMHO, I say you'd be better off having your trans redone, as there really aren't any real-world advantages to this mod for you unless you've done extensive engine mods and need the extra beefiness of the 4T65E-HD.
