Help me find a car!

Hey, i started a thread before that lead nowhere, so ill start a new one listing the requirements im after and cars that WONT work, thanks for any help.

Requirements:

Under $15,000
fun and fast(ish) (not looking for a 10 second car lol)
good mpg (20+ maybe 25+)
wont ruin my insurance rates.

Cars that wont work:

Subaru wrx (im 19 yrs old, insurance would be murder)
Nissan 300 (cant afford the twin turbo thing)
Nissan 240 (cant remeber what it was, but this wont work either)
Dodge omni (fast, good mpg, but ugly as sin, dont like that)
DSM (reliability)
Camaro/firebird (fast/fun, not sure how it'd effect insurance, MPG ok until you actually turn on the car :P)

so lets see what we can come up with.

Have you looked at the other pontiacs? Maybe a grand am works for ya?

he said this in a recent post. He is referring to 99 and up models. Grand Prixs shouldn't be too bad either. Supercharged GTP models will probably need a little more maintenence.

Re: Help me find a car!

Hmm maybe, im kinda looking for a nice balance between looks and speed, the grandam seems nice im going to look into it more. Do they have potential to be pretty quick? The price seems low enough that id have $$ left over. Just dont want it to become "ricey" lol :P I know that term is thrown around alot :P

Re: Help me find a car!

For 6K, or less, try a '99 Honda Civic. Should be reliable enough & still provide a lot fun.

I would think there is a decent performance market for the Grand Am; I know the Grand Prix does and its possible they share those engines (it is GM after all ). I've always liked pontiac's sleek appearance on their cars.

A honda would suit the job also, but you said no honda's in the other post.

Re: Help me find a car!

1994 BMW (forget model atm)

52,000kms (not a typo )
Custom paint job
lowered professionally
17in rims
$9000

My best friends dad just picked it up, hes an auto painter so hes doing the paintjob for free, his friend lowered it and the rims are brand new and just installed.
Sounds like a good deal to me but what do yall think? Hes only charging me what he paid for the car and the stuff done to it, hes not making a profit at all :P
Im going to find out more about it tomorrow.
Sexy looking car as is IMO, cant wait to see it with the paintjob all done. Hes doing White with perl and some subtle pinstriping. Should be hot. Hes getting the back 3 windows tinted this weekend too.
