new subs

ok since it looks like i might have melted part of my voice coil in my type r's.
i am making a new list for subs that i can possable get. here it is.

JL W6v2
*RE Audio SE12*
ed 13Ov.2
jl 10W7

i basically want subs around 400-600 watts i am leaning more into spl then with sql but i don't want it to sound like butt either.
*means i am leaning towards it*

and also since i need subs i can't get a better amp yet so i have to look for another amp.
any input on alpines v power series

Re: new subs

The SE's seem like a good choice, also look into the RL-p SS subs. Im sure that bjboert(dude i cant spell your screen name) will recomend an FI sub, which i have been hearing good things about.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: new subs

i've never recommended an fi sub to anyone, although i have nothing against them. i'm a tc fan, but you want more spl than sq i might look into a IA lethal injetion series sub.

Re: new subs

I have heard that they are really loud, but they need a ton of airspace, and the new 07 subs the 12 weighs in at 72lbs, and i think rec enclosure is like no less than 3cubes. If its the older ones than there shouldnt be much of a problem but the new ones are excursion monsters with that motor structure.

Re: new subs

ok well i decided not to get the 15 xxx since i don't have 600 for the sub then have to pay around 100-1500 for the amp then have the pay for the extra stuff for like.

so this is what i am thinking.

2 re se12
us amps xt 4000d
us amps xt 1600.4
alpine SPR-17S
and sure yet for the rear fill
and like 2-3 bulk packs of dynamat extreme
