Major Transmission Problems on 95 Automatic

I drive a 95 Automatic Jeep Cherokee (4.0L). My transmission regularly slips around 15, 25, and 35, mph. It is getting worse and today when i pulled into my driveway from school, i couldn't go into reverse. When put into reverse the jeep doesn't move at all and when in nutral it moves forward. My father has bought a new speed sensor, but we have not recieved it yet. If anyone has a suggestion on how to fix this problem your advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.

Try checking the shifter linkage to make sure it is tight and check all the sensors (TPS, CPS).

I am concerned when you said that it does not shift to the correct position (R, N, D) when you change it. If it is slipping or changing gears sporatically while driving thats sounds like one thing; but when you can't shift in the driveway it sounds like something else.

If its not the fluid, the sensor, or the linkage it might be internal damage - you know what that means....

I'd check the fluid first, and at least drop the pan and replace it with some fresh fluid. That also lets you check the condition of the fluid, the bottom of the pan for shavings, and the filter.

Change the fluid, all of it before it gets worse. Search here for flushing.

Wether this is Black Mojo Juice or not, I've recently had AMAZING results using Trans-Dr. or Trans-X. (Advance Auto- grey bottle, like oil) in two different cars, a '92 Park Ave and a '92 Escort.

I thought the tranny's were GONE.(Would Not Move) I put a bottle in each tranny, shifted from D to R many times, and bang! My junk trannys were working again! NOW, I'm gonna do a fluid, filter change and try to keep 'em going long enough to sell! [I know, I should be smacked HARD.]

(Somebody PLEASE school me/us as to what these kind of products really do, and why they do/don't work!) - THANKS!

I plan on doing fluid/filter changes in both and reaplying the 'treatment(s)'...

Some works, some is snake oil, and some will cause harm. This stuff worked as advertised for me....
