Service Engine Codes

I took my 1996 Blazer to Checker Auto and they scanned the codes...the check engine light was on

here are the codes they gave me..

442--said it was something with the EVAP
700--something with the transmission
1100--general code couldnt tell me more...

Can someone help me out...or at least know of a website so I can read what these codes mean so I can go and try to work on my car????

The Checker people werent very informative and I cant find anything more in depth on these codes.

Thanks
South Dakota/John

Looks like OBD11 codes.
From a code reader or cheap scanner.
The P0700 is a problem on transmission control.
1100 is strange code.

Code 700 needs checked out fast before it could cause transmission damage
You need to find some place that has a engine/transmission capable scanner and get the good manf codes.

Post back the good manf codes from a transmission/engine capable scanner.

I agree with MT, If you haven't changed the tranny fluid yet take it to a reputable tranny shop (not a quickie lube) for a code check and routine servce. If you don't know of one ask around like at the auto parts store for a referall. it could only cost $70 to $100 to prevent a $1500 rebuild.
