2005 Dakota Quad Cab Advice Needed
Just bought a used 05 Dakota 4X2 Quad Cab and have a really dumb question
Anyone have any advice for removing the tire jack from beneath the folding rear bench seat? The jack is held in place by a metal bracket of sorts, and the owners manual said you must twist the jack to releast it from the bracket. However, it doesn't clearly demonstrate how to do that, but does mention using the provided 'finger tool' which I am assuming is the little white plastic insert but for the life of me I can't get it to turn. All I am accomplishing is bending the plastic insert/tool. Anyone had a problem with this before? Any suggestions? I am going on a trip next week to road test and want to know how to change a tire if I have too.

Re: 2005 Dakota Quad Cab Advice Needed
Try turning it the other way.You have to lower the jack.I dont know how to explain it but the jack is slid into that bracket and then it actually is lifting up on the bracket and the pressure exerted is what holds it in there. If you are looking at it from the driver side of the truck, turn it counter-clockwise.I have a 05 quad cab dakota and I just went in the garage and tried it.

Thanks, I will give it a try
, I think its just over tightened then because that is what I was doing. May try the back end of a wrench instead fo the little plastic insert, it is just bending and I was turning it counter-clockwise.
