Question Help with '91 Prelude 2.0Si

Hello--

I am new to this forum, and just came across it while searching for a solution to an odd problem I am having with my '91.

The other week my A/C just stopped cold (no pun intended ), and
all of the lights for the pushbuttons that control air flow like vent, defrost,
floor, etc. went out.

The blower still works fine, but the buttons to divert the air no longer
have any effect, or lights.

If I push in the A/C button, which also no longer lights up, I can hear the
condenser fan at thr radiator kick on.

I have checked all fuses and relays (that I know of), and all seems to
be OK.

Any clues, or ideas for what to check for?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

the switch gear you're talking about is mostly vacuum operated... check out your vacuum lines on the back of the a/c, as well as anything that is connected to the back of the a/c controls... sometimes the controls become disconnected... it's an old car ya know...

flylwsi--

Thanks for the reply.

OK, I'll go double check vacuum components/lines; however, what is
stumping me is that there seems to be an electrical problem. No lights work on the buttons, no lights on the A/C compressor switch, etc.

The A/C switch does activate the fan at the radiator, and the blower switch operates the blower. The compressor does not engage.

If it were a pure vacuum problem, I would think that would just affect
the diverter flap for which vent the air is routed to.

Thoughts anyone?

Please disregard. I have solved my problem.

It was the rear window defroster fuse, which I had checked
when all known fuses were checked. In the daylight, it looks
like a good fuse. At nite, when held over my flourescent work
light, I could see the tiny gap.

Thanks
