Re: Front wheel studs

when you knock them out with hammer, while turning the front until you see you got enough space to put new one in..then put 1or2 bigger nut's around them then start your new nut on it draw them up tight to pull stud threw, oh and little bit of packing grease or oil on new stud..good luck...

I did this on a 98. I used a 3 pound hammer, bigger than a carpenter's hammer. I used a capenter hammer on the back to absorb some of the impact on the hub. There is one spot near the top where there was room for the stud to come out toward the axle.

I used washers under the nut to pull the new stud in. I put the nut on upside down so the flat top of it was rubbing on the washers to pull the new stud in.

Re: Front wheel studs

Careful whacking these studs out, this damage the bearing.
