95 Eclipse Wont start!!!

Okay so i got the classic , engine does not start question.

I have a 1995 Eclipse gs 2.0 420A engine.

i baught this car on monday, started fine and drove fine. That night it would stall periodically on me like at a light.

The next day i jumped in the car and started it up. Fired allright and everything. Punched the gas and got about a hundred yard then it stalled. It sounded like it was not getting any gas. errr. So i cranked it over to start it up. It cranks and cranks good, but no fire.

So i had the mechanic look at it because its -20 out that day. He says its getting gas and its getting spark. Well there goes my fuel pump whoes. Its just not starting

Could it be the crank shaft senor or the camshaft sensor? The reson why i am thinking one of those two sensors is because of the stalling the night before. I know the crankshaft sensor if it goes will not let the car start.
It could be timing but i am shure its not. The timimg belt cover was removed but the belt is on there really tight. I dont think it jumped a tooth. I am a relitive mechanicly inclined and can fix most problems.

The mechanics got this car and hes had it for a week but has not looked at it or tried fixing it excep fopr one day. Now, i need this car and now and thats why i baught it and want to fix this thing so i am thinking of rescuing my babby and try to fix her. This mecanic has been know to take 4 weeks to fix a brake line.

thanks for any help that you can give.
