Can i install new stereo in 03' impala without interfering with service of car?

I was told i couldnt install an aftermarket stereo without it costing me money to have old stereo installed each time i have it serviced. Is this accurate or can a stereo be installed without any problem?

You will lose your chimes and the ability to change some features. They used to have a radio reoloction wiring harness to move the factory deck to the trunk. So you would have two radios.
