Ok herez the deal i need someones help.....I blew up my neon r/t dohc motor with 94,000 miles on it and i swaped it with a dohc motor with 26,000 miles on it........now here is the prob ever since i did the swap my speedometer has not worked........Any thoughts on what could be wrong or how to go about even thinking of fixing it....... also one other ? it keeps shuttn off on me(but not consistently) when i push in the clutch it'll drop to about 500 and bam!!! it shuts off and it never did that b4 the swap.........if anyone has any ideas i would greatly appriciate it!!!! Well it appears to me that you're lackin' some info. Did you just swap a block? Did you carry over any of the parts from your original (what would carry over)?
Well I've notta clue what could be wrong, but you swapped an engine I'm sure you can figure out an idle problem. *hint*maybe*hint* idle? Just sounds that way if you drop the clutch and drop to roughly 500rpm. Matt |

speedometer
hey thanks Matt For tryn' to help but i figured it out tonight so now i can stop freakn out over it........I used the wiring harness off the new motor i swapped in and apparently the wires to the speed sensor were cut and frayed so i spliced and diced em and that was the problem to the spedometer not working as well as the idle problem.....so thanks for the help but all is well in neon r/t land again and not i can rest happily.
