Chg Oil Soon!

For the first time in nearly a year of having my '99 lumina, the CHG OIL SOON light came on the other day. It went off after driving for a few minutes. I did the reset procedure as outlined here as well as in the owners manuel. However, it didn't seem to work...the light came on again and went off after driving a bit. I did NOT change the oil as it has only been about two months since it was last changed and I haven't driven but around 2,000 miles. Is the CHG OIL light an indication of anything other than just an "oil wear indicator"???? thanks

Re: Chg Oil Soon!

I just changed my oil and put 10w30 valvoline maxlife in it and now mine comes on for less then a min when I first start it. I havnt owned it long so it was the first time I changed it. I put some seafoam in it b4 I changed it not sure if that would affect anything im thinking it might just want some 5w30.
