Re: motor

Only if it's a 4g63. If its the 420a non turbo then no. Well you can, but lots of custom work. We need more info though to help you farther. What model and trim... gsx, gs, esi, tsi? The 420a and 4g63 are both 2.0L.

Re: motor

As long as its the 4g63 swap is fine. That all though.

Re: motor

It's a 4g63 non turbo. A direct swap is possible. However, there may be some problems with electrical, ECU, and connections. Someone else will have to verify the N/T thing into a turbo model.

Basically, you would need to take the 4g63 TURBO model from the 96 and drop it into the NonTurbo car. There may be some problems with that. Anyone else help here?

Re: motor

The best motor to replace the one in your car would be the same thing. Just get another 4G63 non turbo engine and put it in there. Any type of swap would be quite a bit of a pain the ass.

Re: motor

So if the motor out of the 96, is a 4g63 then it should be an easy replacement ?

Re: motor

No....they only made a turbo version of the 4G63 in 96. That swap would be very hard and not really the best idea.
