Porting my manifold..

Ok, so I was just thinking about a few things I want to do with my car and porting the manifold seemed like a good next step. I was talking to a few people tonight, and they informed me that if you were to port the manifold, it would be in my best interest to port and polish the head also..is this true, or could I do without the ported head?

Also, I know that prices range immensely, but could I get some idea of the average price range for porting the manifold? I know the time for the machining will be the most of it.. And what about for the head? (my plans are just to go with a complete 3" exhaust, to increase airflow and such)

if you dont plan on having a full out race car, and just want a daily driver thatyou "accelerate rather quickly" with from time to time, a port and polish would be useless i think. i mean, itsa better than nothing, but for the cost and the time and whatever, it wouldnt be worth it. btw, did you mean you are porting your intake mani or your exhaust mani?

Re: Porting my manifold..

Sorry, I was talking about the exhaust manifold..Don't know why I forgot that part. I can see how that could be a bit of useful information. :P

Re: Porting my manifold..

Yeah its not necessary to port and polish your head. You can just port the manifold and be fine.

Re: Porting my manifold..

I don't know if it's for sale yet, but I have seen it in person on a local who just hit 9's on a big16g powered 90 fwd laser lol. I guess he has hook-ups with FP.
