need some help

got a 97 jeep thats acting like a peice of shit right now. *next person to say its a short I am going to shoot* ok anyways heres the problem in reverse the engine starts acting funny and crock if i let it idle to long it dies if i turn right it dies. heres what i've done so far checked for a short no shorts checked cpu thats fine checked fuses fine replaced idle sensor any ideas on what i could be missing?
forgot something doh its a 1997 Jeep Cherokee 6Cyl 4.0L Cherokee Sport 4WD engine

Tip: NSS....search here ...but first...tune it up (plugs for starters).

154,000 new sparks and spark plugs 6 months 2 months old

Mine is a 97 also....did you do anything about the NSS.

The CPS is next...the problem with the CPS is that the wire crosses over the top of the transmission and can actually "short" sometimes due to harness rubbing against the metal.

If it was me, I'd change the CPS first and then rebuild the NSS (it will need it if you haven't done it already).

how would the CSS cause it the engine is always pyhicaly moving forward all that changes is the transmission what is NSS just out of dire wonder the CSS is about 6 months old plus if it was that check engine light be on
