gear drives

i have a 97 sierra with the 350 . im building a 410 for it right now but im needing to replace my timing chain in the 350. shes got 216000 plus and runs like new , but i have a set of gear drives i'd like to slap in her to go with the other performance upgrades, but was concerned that it would mess with the knock sensor . if it was to can it be unplugged with out any detrimental effect.

Re: gear drives

I would not run your 410 without a knock sensor (this is my opinion). The gear drive will cause the knock sensor to pick up false knock and retard the timing. Without a knock sensor you risk ruining the engine or else give up on much of the performance of the engine by running the engine retarded. Not worth it in my book.

Put in a nice double roller set is what I would do.
