Well, the datalogger doesn't even work.

My 90 Galant isn't getting an injector pulse. there's fuel in the rail, the starters going, i've got spark, there's just nothing getting into the cylinder.

but that's not what i'm trying to fix.

I just bought a datalogger a palm III (mmcd), came with the software, cable, and hotsync cradle.

background: Car is a 1990 Galant AWD, with VR4 conversion, ecu, 4g63t, trans, wiring harness, teh works.

I plug the datalogger into the port located below the dash on the 90 Galant N/T. doesn't do anything. I try starting the car, still no readings, i fiddle with some of the check boxes in the program. still nothing. My question is mostly for those that have done the n/t conversion. How did you get your datalogger to work?

is there a difference b/t the non-turbo cars and the turbo cars by means of datalogging?

is there a difference b/t the 90 and 91 that won't let me datalog this?

or worse, am i just entirely incompetent with using the datalogger?

i guess i've got more troubles than the damn things worth b/c of all the conversion stuff i've had to do, but almost all of it should be bolt-on affair.

any help at all is appreciated.

Well... I put a lot of thought into this last night but couldn't think of anything really that would help. There should be no difference in the years for datalogging purposes, but the OBD ports could be different between turbo and non... Do you have the turbo one laying around anywhere?

Re: Well, the datalogger doesn't even work.

Does MMCD work with OBD-I? Also, what does your datalogger cable look like? I know for 1g's there is an additional wire that need to be plugged in somewhere to provide the cable with power. I know that's not the most technical way to put it, but I'm not too versed on the 1g's.

Ohhh Ya know what, your right... The cable needs to run another wire into the fusebox to any random fuse. I totally forgot about that. We had to do that in my one buddys old 1g... Did you do that too?
