Hi idle on my century

hello everybody, i'm new in this forum,
if someone can help me! my buick century 1989 limited have a litle problem
the idle is still high and my check engine light is on
but when the car is hot and the outdoor temperature is upper than 5 celcius
the light is turn off and the idle is ok ???
Whats up ???
