Silverado engine swap

I need information concerning swapping engines from a 1999 Slverado To a 2000 4X4 Silverdo.Both Engines are 5.3 Vin T engines.
Were there any differences and will these engines swap easily.
My 2000 has 250.000 miles on it and I have a chance to buy a 1999 engine at a great price but i need to know if they will interchange without much headaches. Thanks

Re: Silverado engine swap

The engine should bolt in directly. The 2000 engine may have a slightly different connector for the oil pressure sensor, and possibly some other different connectors I've overlooked. you should be able to transfer any of the sensors from your existing engine if there are differences.

Consider changing the torque converter when you change the engine. 250K on a TC means it's just about done.

I know you don't want to kill reliability, but I say build it a little before putting it in. If you got the motor out it's the best time. Also, all the connectors should work, I don't think they changed anything from 99 to 2000.

Re: Silverado engine swap

Everything is a direct swap. I swapped my 99 4.8L over with an 02 6.0L and used all the accessories off of my 4.8. Everything is the same except the power.
