1990 "Service" light

Hi all, I was wondering if there was an easy way to turn off the "Service" light. I understand it will go off every 5000 miles to tell you to change the oil, but I have yet to find an easy way to turn it off. I've been able to get it out before by resetting the code check system, but you're supposed to access a little lever under the dash to reset. I can't figure out how to do that. Can somebody please tell me how? Thanks.

Re: 1990 "Service" light

Ok, well I found out that on the 1990 240 there is a small button on the front of the instrument cluster right side bottom which you take a bent paper clip and press it really hard and far until you actuate the lever inside. At least that's the recommended procedure. The problem was that mine was FUBAR and not working. So I cheated and did a bulb-ectomy. Now there is no more "Service Light" problem. I suppose it's easy to remove the instrument cluster and remove the bulb that way, but I was able to reach it from underneath and pull it out.
