my mom...

... has a 2005 grand am... she starts driving and the car makes a funny groaning noise then the "check engine soon", "trac control off" and "abs" lights come on... we hooked it up to a computer, and it came up clean... where else should we check?

Re: my mom...

ABS diagnostic or code reader...

Shop will charge $85 just to run diagnostics.

Sounds like the ABS turned on mistakenly and went wacky.

Store bought readers dont read codes from ABS.
Try a dealer or shop level reader for possible codes.

Check the parking brake, brake fluid level.

Good Luck

Re: my mom...

I have heard also that some parts stores like the zone or advance have been carrying ABS capable scanners.

And this does certainly sound like a wheel bearing/speed sensor failure.
