carpet help, i am an idiot.

i have a 91 Civic Hatchback, of course. My carpet is pretty much trashed to shit, and i am trying to find somewhere that i can buy new stuff. I've looked on the net, and can't find it anyone, and i can't seem to find it anywhere local.

does anybody have any ideas as to where i can find it? preferably pre-molded stuff so i dont have to attempt it on my own.

thank yeah:bandit:

Someone here might have some they are willing to sell, and most people are willing to look for you on junkyard runs.

I am from good ol Calgary, Alberta, :ylsuper Canada :ylsuper.

I am buddies with Jeff, he runs that little decepticonracing.com company. Have not a clue what his nickname on this board is, but i know hes on it .

I've had my Civic since about the beginning of July, its pretty stock right now. I got full ractive cat back exhaust, limo tinted windows, started my custom white interior, K&N air intake and thats pretty much it. I'm slowly trying to clean the thing up, cuz its still needs quite a bit of work.

Once i get off my ass, i'll post some pics.

The name of the company escapes me at the moment, but there are several that actually make replacements that will fit. Do another search or go to a trim shop that specializes in custom cars and see what they can do. Last idea is an import salvage yard and ask them to try to locate on the national computer.

You can get molded ACC Mat from www.automotiveinteriors.com for $135 (USD). They've got great customer service, and you could get it in less than a week. You can pick pretty much any color...

I don't know about the OEM carpet from hondaautomotiveparts.com, but the ACC Mat does not have holes pre-cut. So, what you have to do is strip out your interior (front seats, back seats, center console, door sills, etc.) Remove the old carpet, lay it on top of the new carpet (lining it up as best you can) and using a permanent marker, trace the holes from the old stuff to the new stuff and the edges also. Then, using a box knife or carpet knife, cut holes in the new carpet and trim the edges down. It's a real good idea to cut the new holes alot smaller than the original holes. That way, if you need to trim the holes back, you can, but if you make them too big, you're screwed. Then, put the new carpet in your car and re-assemble the interior. It's a good idea to vacuum the carpet before you put it in, to get rid of all the fuzzy crap from cutting the carpet.

The only special tool you will need is a Torx T-40 driver (if you have the door-mounted seat-belts). There are 2 T-40 bolts on each door-sill, and they are always REALLY REALLY tight, so use a long cheater bar if you have to. I actually twisted my T-40 bit trying to get one of mine off.

Anyways, I hope that helps, if you have any questions, send me a private message.

I can get you either grey from a 89 STD, or blue from a 90 DX if you want. Both for $14.99.
