2001 ss Chugging

I have 2001 ss with 67,000. It has been a good car. I have recently have had an issue with it chugging really bad, like it is not gettting fuel or something. 70% of the time it has power and good acceleration, but 30% it chug's. The check engine light comes on when I have this problem, but then goes out with in a few minutes, or right when I get to the shop. I had the cat replaced 1 year ago, but with that it had no power at all. I am new to these cars and this forum so Any ideas would be appreciated, Thank You

Re: 2001 ss Chugging

welcome to AF!!! As you may have noticed already, many other Monte Carlo and Lumina owners have experienced this "chuggle" or "Fishbite" that you seem to describe. I'm not sure if this is the same problem you're having, but I found this link very helpful...
