Question launching an automatic

so i know if i wanted to race i should have gotten a manual 02 z28... got an automatic tho. i'm going to go race an 03 mustang gt that is a manual and i was wondering what the best way to take off would be?

Get some drag radials and a stall. Brake-torque it then take off. Just don't break the rear.

If your new to this, just hold down on the brake, rev the car to 2000rpms or so, then let off the brake and go.

If you get a high stall on there it will be better than a manual. The automatic transmission can shift gears faster than you can.

No, what you are thinking of is something that shortens the throw between gears.

A torque converter with a higher stall figure, will create more torque at a higher rpm.
