Engine Swaps For 2003 Neon??

Hey, I have a 2003 sxt. I was just wondering if anyone knows what types of engines I can swap with? It's an automatic, which probably creates a problem. I just don't want to throw a turbo on it. If I have to, I have to, but I just wanted to know if I have more options! Thanks!

Re: Engine Swaps For 2003 Neon??

You could go with either the R/T magnum sohc engine, that would be the easiest. The more difficult, yet more rewarding swap would be the PT Cruiser/Stratus 2.4L dohc. I recommend the 2.4L because it has the best potential for an NA build. The sohc magnum should go right in and should work with the rest of the stock parts. The 2.4L would require new motor mounts, and a new pcm or reprogrammed pcm and maybe a few other things.

What is your budget and goals? Answer those first.
