Angry loss of acceleration+ low idle

I'm driving a 95 pontiac bonneville se with 143,000 miles i noticed that i have been recieiving a low idle and my acceleration is lower then what it used to be. I just got done putting platnium spark plugs, air filter, and just changed oil. Can someone please tell me where to start, and what the problem can be.

Re: loss of acceleration+ low idle

I'd start simple and check your plug wires for good connections and possibly a crossed wire. Was it running fine before the plugs/wires change? Are you sure that you bought the right plugs? I'm assuming that you don't have a check enging / service engine light on. Next step mught be the TPS but, I think you would get a light. These are my guesses. LEt's see what the experts have to say.

Re: loss of acceleration+ low idle

i checked the wires, they are fine. i bought platnium spark plugs, they worked well when i put them in, can they be dieing this fast. i took apart the air filter box and teh tub by the sensors, im gunna be spraying that to clean it out, maybe that will do it.

Re: loss of acceleration+ low idle

Oh, so the car was running fine immediately after the plugs and wires change then started to run poorly a little while later? About how many miles between the plugs/wires change and the low idle / poor accelleration condition? Does it idle roughly or just lower? I'm maybe starting to think vacuum leak or mis firing plug.

Re: loss of acceleration+ low idle

all my spark plugs are firing, it was been about 3,000 miles since the new spark plugs where put in. i seem to have better acceleration after i clean out the hoses in the airline, but still low on the idle. running around 800 rpms at 0 miles an hour when its suppose to be around 1100
