Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

The link you posted doesn't work. In any event, good run with your LS1. I ran a 13.7 sec. pass when the car was close to stock at 2000+DA. These cars can get down the track pretty quick. I just wish it would grip a little better.

Just burn those tires, just burn them to hell. I did so and with street tires got the 13; That's exactly what had happed the first three times, the first one while trying to take off at 3000 rpm the tail was all over the place and got 14.85
Nice run too.. yeah that is why we grow so danm proud of them. By the way just copy a paste the link to the address bar, it should come out.

Actually now I have a 13.1 sec. pass at 109mph. Oh, and I did burn the tires to heck.

Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

Street tires shouldn't get warmed up.

Never got to run mine at sea level stock.
Most M6 cars see 13.2-13.5 after a couple passes to get used to the car.

Yeah contrary to what Mr. Luos says I ran better when I burned the tires I was just losing too much time everytime I took off. Sorry man but I've never seen and Stock LS1 run 13.2, but again that's just me.

I do have a question; I'm getting ready to have my original exaust changed but I badly want a dual exaust no a Y set up you any idea who sells those over the internet? Because I tried this shop near my house and the guy says that to do duals on these cars is impossible, I'll try to get someone else opinion but I seen camaros with H pipes.

Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

Street tires aren't 100% rubber.
Warming them up makes them slicker.

And since we are visiting the subject. The fastest stock LS1 F-Bodys are in the 12's.

Whatever you might be right but I don't know just go wacth and enjoy the video. But I don't think (specific) that 98-02 LS1 stock V8 camaros or tram am's can pull 12's.

Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

Why not??
Stock they can trap 105...plenty for 12's with a good driver and decent launch.
Of course, this was back when a lot of cars had 20,000 miles on them and were broken in properly. Doubt there are many stock ones that could go 12's anymore.

Just watched the video. Looks like it did okay on those tires. Is it an A4?

Good looking car, and a good start with it.

Also, I am not ripping on you in any way. Just letting you know what some cars have done stock. Conditions play a huge role in how fast you run as well. The 12 second stockers had 0 DA days to run. That is perfect weather. My car would probably be 10's with that kinda DA.
Want to see my 11 second pass at 5800 feet?

Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

LS1's will run 12's with Evan Smith driving. I'd say roughly 99.7% of people are not as good as Evan Smith with the stick, and if they say they are, they are typically full of it (Lots of guys I see lie about their mods at the track). That said, Evan Smith ran a 12.8 sec. 1/4 mile in a stock Z28. He was powershifting like a mofo I bet. Most people don't powershift, and will typically get a 13.5-13.8 sec. 1/4 mile from an F Body stock.

Remember Car And Driver/ Motor Trend don't post times with powershifting techniques. They've run LS1 powered F Bodies to a 13.4 sec. 1/4 mile.

Interestingly when Evan Smith ran both the 03 Cobra and the 02 SS Camaro 1/4 mile wise, he wasn't able to hook up at all with the SS. His best was a 2.1 sec. 60', and he had a 2.3 - 2.4 sec. 60' time. Even with a 2.4 sec. 60' he ran a 13.4 sec. 1/4 mile running into a 25mph headwind.

I see what you mean yeah I live in FL Miami so that's like at -10 feet from sea level .But seriosly I going to run mine again soon problably this weekend I think I could pull a little lower. The night of the 13.65 I was able to run only once and that was the result. The funny thing is that my friend with a mustang GT 98 with a rebuilt engine and a few things was pulling 14's all night with 4 passes and he just couldn't believe that I just came ran and pulled in one shot that time.

By the way show me your baby I bet that thing roars by itself.

Re: Great Track Results for Stock LS1

Good time. The first time I ever went to the track, my first run was the best run.

In what way does he powershifts that he is able to cut so much time?
