ABS Light

99 gt 100,000 miles

I was driving along and it felt like my brakes went out for a split second and then went back to normal, but now my abs light and tracion control light are on constantly. I tried to read it with a scanner but it won't come up and therefore can't be cleared. Any help is always appreciated....thank you

Re: ABS Light

It's sounds like clearing the light won't fix your problem, but being able to read the codes could point you in the right direction. Your going to have to find a scanner capable of pulling GM ABS codes.

Re: ABS Light

if both lights are on at once, it may be a hub a problem.

Re: ABS Light

Check your ABS fuses and connectors and brake fluid.

Here is where I sucessfully repaired my GM hub ABS light on problem.

Often a bad hub can be diagnosed by Ohming the wheel sensor connections and see if the wheel hub is 1K Ohms... but preferably at the
ABS control module.

If its not somewhat close to 1K ohms track it to the significant wheel and wiring, check at its connector then, replace the hub.. $120...

Elsewise Fuses, and then a diagnostic $80 from a brake shop..

Simple store bought code readers dont read codes from a ABS system.

Good Luck
