k2500 front hub removal
I am in the process of replacing the speed sensor on my 99 suburban. I know you have to remove the front hub to get to the sensor. I know you have to use a puller to get the hub off. My problem is, it wont come off! I removed the four bolts on the back of the hub. So far all I have done is drive the half shaft into the transfer case. I haven't been able to find a maintenance manual reference for the removal and replacement of the hub. I have been to the library, looked in my chilton's book and looked on line. Am I doing something wrong? Did I miss something? Could the hub be rusted into the bracket? I had it off before to have the rotors turned, but that was two years ago. Any help would be gratly appreciated.
Thanks John |

Re: k2500 front hub removal
I got it off. Actually my bro-in-lawdid.
He stuck a large screw driver in the rotor and started prying and wiggling. It finally started to move. There was quite a bit of rust around it. Hope this helps someone down the line |

Re: k2500 front hub removal
Great job "GRUMPY" and thanks for posting back. I know I'm going to be doing this job soon due to worn rotors..........Steve
