A few of my new ED9..

Only bit of damage on the car that bugs me...looks like somebody tried to jimmy the lock at some point... I'll get it fixed soon enough.

Working on her out in the employee parking lot today, because they lock up the shop on Sundays... so can't get inside to work. No big deal.

Almost ready to start up.

Re: A few of my new ED9..

Very nice. Also makes me realize just how low my car is... Hope she fires right up. That damage would bug the crap out of me too, I dont like any place that I think water can get into..

Re: A few of my new ED9..

Congrats on the find. I'm pretty sensitive to an OEM CRX interior so I find the door panel and seat rip worse than the door. I dunno thats just me. It definitely sits higher than what i'm used to, like Frodo said. Keep her clean and she'll be good to go.

The interior I can fix myself... already emailed a guy about a seat back... and I can stitch on a new matching X for the door panel... no big deal....
but body work is time consuming and I don't have the equipment to do it myself.
I do work with a guy who does great PDR work (a perk of working for a Lexus dealership)... he can pull the dent out for me... I'll just have to get my painter to paint it for me (our PDR guy may be the best in dallas, but our painters are on crack).

Trying to decide how low to go... deffinately needs to be streetable... I have pretty high speed bumps to go over in the employee parking lot.... of course, the end decision will be based mostly on the rims I end up choosing....... and that's going to be a while off, because I have 3 sets of good tires for the stock Si rims (that I haven't put back on yet).

Re: A few of my new ED9..

there is ed9 crx's but i believe they are edm's..but this bad boy sure does look like a regular old rex to me..but on that note its a very sweet lookin car..what damage pictured aint shit and i consider that car a great find compared to what is out on the road or for sale nowadays..i see the pry marks around the handle..that shit kinda derived from NY,NJ a few yrs ago..then ppl eventually realized it was soo much easier to shave keys. i dunno bout u but i do like white crx's..10-4 Fodo? =) sweet ride keep us updated

Re: A few of my new ED9..

Ummmmmm, ED is the chassis code for USDM 88-91 civic/crx's. EF is the chassis code for JDM civic/crx's, which is why you hear a lot of people call 88-91's EF's. Haven't you ever looked at your VIN number? ED9 is a 1.6 liter crx (aka si) ED8 is a 1.5l crx (aka dx, hf). Theres nothing wrong with what this guy said, he just gave the chassis code.

I looked into my VIN number and found out that my car was one of the first (number 200) in the crx production line in 1991.

Re: A few of my new ED9..

Yes yes.... ED = USA, EE = European, EF = JDM/Asia

Picked up a good tranny yesterday... just have to find the time to install it.
New exhaust should be here wednesday or thursday.... my muffler has practically fallen off no big deal.... also expecting my energy suspension bushings sometime this week... will be glad to fix the suspension looseness.
I want to go ahead and lower her, but the wife will kill me if I spend anymore money right now.

I know what you mean.... my 97 was getting far too expensive to tinker with.... nearly $3,000 in suspension already, $2,000 in stereo and video equipment, the body looked the way I wanted to keep it...... about the only thing left was a $5k-$7k swap.....

So it's good to have something that I can afford to tinker with again, and that I enjoy driving more

Re: A few of my new ED9..

I really like the white. I'd still prefer something a little newer though especially for commuting. Driving a crx 40 miles to work and then 40 miles home all highway tended to get a little intense. Maybe it had something to do with the engine rpm being up so high to make power in the small displacement engine. It's funny how driving a sedan or an SUV will alleviate tendencies of ricey driving... haha.

Killa, GL with that ride. What kind of exhaust did you get? Are you going to get a header or use the old stock piece?
