Will a 89 Z24 console fit an 89 RS?

Yup, the Z24, RS, and late Type 10s all had the same dash so you should have no problem whatsoever. I yanked one out of a junkyard RS to replace mine in the Z24.

THANKS Dude
Thanks for the reply. Your scenerio is exactly why I asked about it. I was at the bone yard to get a Headlitght switch housing and they had two 89 Z24's there and my mind started working. I was like Hmmm I wonder if the radio and console would bolt right in along with the front and rear seats and shit while I was at it why not take the fucken wheels too. What about the ground effects on a Z24. Are they molded into the body panels and if so does someone sell aftermarket replicas. Might as well go all the way and make a full blown fake Z24. I got a MINT 89 RS for $300.00 so im into the car for short money.

Whats a Type 10. Do you mean a S-10 pickup? I guess a center console was an option cause mine only has the shifter part. My main reason is so I have an ARM REST more than anything else.

The ground effects are bolted on the doors and sides for 88-90 models. The front and rear clips would also be needed as the ground effects are molded into them. Watch eBay, they show up from time to time.
Since you just have a shifter, you will have to remove the center piece of your dash, I think, where the radio is and then the console would mount to the same holes. You would also need to get the rear console mounting brace to support it since you don't have one now. A Type-10 is the precursor to the Z24 that was made in the early 80s. - Eric |
