I ski usually in Utah. Favorite place The Canyons. I love grommed surfaces because you can go faster. and fast is goooood.

Do I!

I ski about 15 - 20 days per annum (I have a day job).

I mainly ski in the Southern Lakes District of New Zealand's South Island at a ski-hill called Treble Cone and occasionally at Cardrona Resort and I base myself at Lake Hawea which is about 10 minutes drive from Wanaka Township.

I also ski closer to home at the Whakapapa Ski Field and Turoa Alpine Resort on Mount Ruapehu which is about 225 miles from Auckland.

I have also been to Maunganui Ski Field (a small club field on Mount Egmont in the Taranaki), skied at Ohau in the South Island, Porter Heights and Mount Hutt in Canterbury and the Remarkables and Coronet Peak near Queenstown as well.

I've also skied Whistler/Blackcomb, Lake Louise, Sunshine Village (incl the opening season at Goat's Eye Mountain) and Norquay in BC and Alberta Canada.

I currently ski on:
- 174cm Rossignol 9X TPower Power Pulsion with an Axial 140 Race Binding
- 198cm Rossignol 9SK Course with Salomon Axe Bindings
- 163cm Elan SCX Monoblocks prototypes with Salmon ProPulse Bindings

And on ski on some custom X Ground Zero Lange Boots.

Nice replicant_008.

Last year I actually went skiing over 100 days, or nights. The local ski lift [Ten min. away ] is open till midnight every day. So from November till April, I’m in heaven. I also spend a lot of the winter weekends at the big ski-towns in Norway. Hafjell, Kvitfjell, Trysil, Gol, Hovden. And I’m planning on taking the Easter-holiday in the Alps.

Anyway, have you tried Telemark skiing? Loose heel. Gives the word Off-Piste a whole new meaning.

I broke my skies last season, so I bought a pair of new Dynastar Intuitiv 74 with Karhu 7tm bindings for this season. I've also ordered a pair of ScottyBob skies, and they should be here by December.

Sorry if that sounded a little strange/crazy, but I LOVE skiing.

It's alright Deaks... those who ski won't be understood by those that don't.

I haven't tried Teles although a couple of people I know do telemark. It looks like a great way to go backcountry though with my knees I might prefer randonee gear (with heels I can lock down so I can alpine turn).

I wish I could do the days but when you have a day job and bills to pay - the nearest I got to was 40 days in a year and that meant 5 weeks off work which I'd love to do again sometime.

I know I'm in good company here!! As Replicant can ettest from PMs, I'm a bout the only Aussie skiing nut you're likely to find. I skiied ~10 days this season - usually more (last year HIsh School = shitloads of work). I'm skiing Canada for the scond time - dedicated ski trip to WB - for a month over Dec/Jan. I've skied every MAJOR Australian resort, New Zealand, and Canada before this trip. Before I'm 25 I want to have done major parts of Europe, the USA and Japan. I just got new boots Dalbello PRX-8's (strongly recommend - bargain). I'll be skiing Canada this year on Rossignol Bandit Xs with Tyrolia bindings. Woohooo.....more AFers love skiing. Will have to organise an international AF ski trip.

I snowboard a lot! I started out going to sundance then that got old fast. Then I just went to different places. Now I have a pass to Park City that cost me 99 bucks. I love cheating the system!
My favorite place of all time is Brighton.

Oh yeah, I'm going to try skiing this year, did it once last year and it was pretty fun.

Whakapapa- Mt Ruapehu- the other side of the mountain (Turoa is the other)- I used to snowboard- but I find skiing way less anti-social (DON'T ask me why)

So we are all going to Chamonix in January then?

I used to snowboard a little, but my friends made fun of me and called me a poser (I fell a lot, and ended up spending most of the days sitting in the lift or some other place drinking coco )

replicant_008: Does radonee bindings cause a lot of stress to the [top of foot, wrist?]?
